At East Hoathly, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children and we expect all staff, volunteers, parents and carers to share this commitment. The Designated Safeguarding Lead for the school is Vicky Lewis (Deputy Head Teacher). If you have any concerns about the welfare of a child, please email welfare@easthoathly.e-sussex.sch.uk

Welcome to the East Hoathly Church of England (Controlled) Primary School website. We are all so proud of our current position of strength, completely committed to providing outstanding education to our pupils. What is taught to the children here is important but even more important is how it is taught. Our excellent staff have been recruited for their passion, enthusiasm and imagination with children to ensure that every single class is engaged, excited and challenged by the learning experiences here. Children's time in their Primary School is vitally important and all too short and so our focus on their needs is relentless. We are very ambitious for them whilst remaining committed to their happiness and well-being at all times. Come and see for yourself.

In March 2014, Ofsted rated us ‘Good with Outstanding Behaviour & Safety’ and in June 2016 we were given an ‘Outstanding’ Church Inspection.

“In the last few years, the school has undergone an amazing transformation, leadership and teaching is first class and this has resulted in happy, engaged children making great progress. Well done!”
“Staff are great, always willing to listen - friendly but professional at all times.”
“I continue to be very impressed with the school. I love things like peer mediation, Forest School and all the trips!”
“The school has gone from strength to strength under the present team. Their passion for excellence is very evident. I have gained more and more confidence and continue to do so. I find the staff very approachable and keen to improve and work together with any concerns that I have had and as a result my child seem happy and doing very well. Thank you.”
“We have been really impressed with the school – the quality of teaching and attention to the children. We have been especially encouraged by the strong Christian heart to the school. As Christians ourselves this has been particularly valued and appreciated. Thank you.”
“The playground has lots for the children to do and the extension onto the field is lovely – lots of equipment. Forest School is EXCELLENT!”
“The children already do a lot of outdoor learning and really enjoy it. Both of my children are really happy and making good progress. We are all very pleased with the school.”
"We are not religious, and do not bring our children up to be, but even this aspect of the school encourages our children to think differently, to be decent to others and to think about their actions and reactions."
"We travel sometimes up to an hour each way (with traffic) to bring our children to East Hoathly and spend hundreds of pounds a month on fuel costs. We consider this to be a sacrifice worth making to bring our children to This school."
"The staff at East Hoathly have the most important job in the world to me - looking after my children and shaping their minds; helping us to prepare our children for their future."
